I want to start jogging but I am so out of shape!! Can you give me some advice?

I have a few extra pounds that I would like to get rid of. The only problem is, I haven't gone jogging or anything in at least 7 years! So out of shape, that I'm scared that I might have a heart attack, if I pushed it to far! I would really like some advice thanks! :)I want to start jogging but I am so out of shape!! Can you give me some advice?
I was once in a similar situation. What I did was I started off slow. I walked for one mile everyday for about a week. The next week I walked for two miles. I kept on increasing the distance and as time went on, my endurance increased and I was able to walk for a longer time without getting out of breath. After about a month of walking, I started to jog (not to fast). I started off the way I did with the walking; one mile for the first week, two miles for the next and so on. Now, I am in great shape. I lost 20 pounds, and I don't get tired that often when running. Just remember not to push yourself too hard. If you get tired when jogging, don't stop, but simply walk. Also, remember to breath in through your nose and out through your mouth. This allows oxygen to run through your body properly when doing cardiovacular excersises, and also prevents cramps. I hope this helped :)I want to start jogging but I am so out of shape!! Can you give me some advice?
Start out slowly. Any physical activity will be a jolt to your body if you haven't exercised recently, but if you don't overdo it, you should be okay. I would also start by walking before you take up jogging. Walking puts much less stress on your joints than runing/jogging does.

And most professionals recommend consulting with your doctor before begining an exercise program.

Good Luck! :)
If you're that concerned you might want to get an approval from your doctor first. However, did you know that walking a mile (at a fast pace) and jogging a mile burn the same amount of calories? The difference is in the time it takes to do each. Obviously, walking one hour burns fewer calories than jogging the same amount of time. Start with walking.
First you should get a physical examination from your doctor.

Don't push just keep building up from a short distance to a bit further as you feel comfortable. There will come a point when you will be able to run as long as you want. Always stretch before and after running.
just start off slow and work your way up. like instead of sprinting, jog, and when you get tired walk at a good pace. and start off like 3 days a week and work your way up on how many days you want to run
start off slow and start walking and then jogging in place. move up by slow jogging then move up to running. you must take it slow
stretch a lot and drink a lot of water oh and stretch even more wen ur done jogging dont jog to much that ur pushing urself to hard
just slowly work your way up

maybe run for half a mile for a month then crank it up to 75%of a mile for 2 months and then go to one and keep going
you need to go on a diet food or something. do push-ups and sit-ups. maybe try a diet pill?
start jogging
