It really depends on whether you actually want to learn something about the subject,or just get a passing grade. Yes, you can do well by studying your teacher and learning what kind of response each particular teacher wants. But that doesn't always mean you are doing any in-depth learning when it comes to the subject matter. ';Study your teacher if you want good grades';. Is this good advice or not?--- why or why not?
This is good advice because each teacher has certain requirements and look for certain things. Some teachers just want to be given the straight and easy answer while others want long, drawn out explanations (or demonstrations) of how you came about with your answer. By understanding your teacher then you can provide what they want and your grades will improve.
