Brining will get you a very moist bird. Brine for about 6-8 hours and then cook at 325F. Pull it out when it reaches 160 and let it rest for 20 minutes before you carve it.Turkey Advice? How to make a good juicy turkey..... pls including seasoning, etc. thank you.?
Turkey by its nature is a dryish meat, but id you put strips of bacon over the outside of the bird and put Paxo Sage and Tyme stuffing in the inside , wrap up in aluminium cooking foil and place in the oven. Set the oven for about 310 Fahrenheit and use as a rule of thumb roast for twenty minutes per pound weight plus twenty minutes. so if you have a 16 lb turkey you would cook it for 320 minutes for its weight plus twenty minutes for the last forty minutes peel back the foils and let the out side brown. To test whether your turkey is cooked take the turkey from the oven and put on a work surface obviously still in its cooking tray and pierce the side with a fork, if when you remove the fork clear juices run out then the turkey is cooked.Turkey Advice? How to make a good juicy turkey..... pls including seasoning, etc. thank you.?
Ingredients:
1 whole turkey (18 to 20 lbs)
1 (granny smith) apple, quartered and seeded
1 large (navel) orange, quartered
1 large sweet onion, peeled and quartered
2 whole garlic cloves
1 tsp Montreal steak seasoning
1 stick melted butter (1/2 cup)
Salt and pepper
Butter-flavor oil spray
1/2 cup water1/2 cup white wine
Method
Preheat oven to 325 degrees. In large bowl combine the fruit, onion, garlic and seasoning. Place fruit mixture in cavity of the turkey, tie legs to hold this inside. Brush turkey with melted butter, sprinkle with salt and pepper. Spray a large roasting pan with a buttery oil. Place turkey breast side DOWN in pan; add 1/2 cup water. Bake uncovered for 2 hours. Remove pan from oven and place turkey breast side UP in roasting pan. Add wine to roaster; baste every 30 minutes, for about 2 1/4 to 2 1/2 more hours. Turkey is done when internal temperature in thigh is 180 degrees. Transfer turkey to cutting board, remove the fruits and onion and discard. Tent the turkey with foil and let stand 15 minutes before serving.
Notes: This makes for a turkey that is full of flavor, moist, tender, and golden brown.
Although this is NOT how to prepare a good, juicy turkey, I thought you may ';N-Joy'; this, anyway. This is to keep your ';cheers'; going through the Season...and Beyond!
